You’re here because

you have a story to tell.

I’m here to help

you tell it.

A good relationship between author and editor is essential. So here’s a little bit about me.

I am a woman of many interests. Aside from being an editor, I am also a singer/songwriter, a theatre actor, and occasionally an author myself. I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2010 to study songwriting at Belmont University. I’ve lived there ever since.

Some things I love:

  • My dog (Louise), my cat (Winnie), and my partner (Will)

  • Musical theatre (as both viewer and performer)

  • Crossword puzzles (as both solver and constructor)

  • Going outside (when it’s not too hot)

  • Staying inside (when it is too hot)

  • Reading books (typically novels and memoirs)

  • Crocheting (typically stuffed animals and hats)

  • Spending time with funny, talented, and generous people (e.g., my lovely family and friends)

But now to why you’re really here:

My love of editing began around 2012. A friend of mine had drafted a book (one part memoir, one part self-help). To support his work, I offered to read it and give him my feedback, just for fun. As I read, I offered advice on how to improve clarity and structure, tighten up grammar and word choice, and help his voice shine. I enjoyed the work so much that over the following years, I offered the same to others and unintentionally started a freelance side hustle as a developmental editor. Later, during the Covid-19 pandemic, I went back to school and got a professional editing certificate from Washington University. I now work as the Developmental Editor for ISC2, an educational nonprofit that trains and certifies cybersecurity professionals—but I still take freelance work on the side (wink).

As an editor and writing coach, my simple mission is to help you tell your story.

Working collaboratively throughout the writing process is my passion. I will always strive to preserve your unique voice as an author while helping to bring clarity, focus, and depth to your work.

If I sound like someone you might enjoy working with, head over to the contact tab to introduce yourself! I’d love to hear about you and your ideas.
